Arione CX Not Compatible with Integrated Carbon Seat Post

Wanted to try the Arione for a while and I found out the rails are too thick for the seat-clamps used on the Scott bike. What a bummer. Have to send it back and stick to the Selle Italia SLK for now. I cant wait to get some climbing in this weekend. Good weather until Sunday. Time to suffer.

Found out that Ritchey sells a modified clamp for the Fizik Arione CX. Ordered one and will give it a shot later on.

That seems insane that you'd have problems with the rail size. I'd say go to a shop and see if a regular Arione fits and if it does, order one with custom colors.

hey, what is the gearing on the Scott? Is it possible to run a 28 or 29 tooth rear cassette with a short cage?

I saw the same Arione in ROAD magazine article. I need to check with the shops. I currently run a 12/25 cassette on the scott, but I have a 13/29 I will use for the DMD for Sierra road. I run a mid-cage on the Scott. I don't know if a short cage works with the 28 or 29, but I would bet it would work.

I don't think a short cage RD will work with anything over 25T. I'm surprised that it works with a 25 actually. Email Lennard Zinn at Velonews, he knows all about that stuff.
